Need to copy verse text without cross-reference letters

I often will use a Ctl-C or a right-click Copy to copy verse text from the browse window to paste into a Word document. The problem is that with several versions, particularly the NAU and the ESV, it copies the superscript cross-reference letters. Of course Word doesn't recognize these and gives me a spelling error, and I don't need them anyway. I haven't been able to figure out how to copy without getting them. Any help would be appreciated.

You need to turn off the notes, called sometimes version notes, sometimes translator notes, in the Browse Window. The little superscript letters and numbers will then not display in the Browse Window, and will not be copied.
Three ways to toggle them on and off:
1. Click with you mouse in the browse window, and press "n".
2. Click on the "hamburger" (3 horizontal bars) button at the top right corner of the Browse Window to display "Browse Window Options". Click on "Toggle Version Notes"
3. In the Main Window Status Bar, at the bottom of the BW window, if it is displayed, double click on "Tr Notes".
