Default Act 10:36 and Act 10:37 conflated

I just tried to put a note on Act 10:37, but it went onto Act 10:36 instead. I tried several times in multiple versions, and it seems that BW has these verses confused internally somehow. I went into the verse mapping setup and added two lines mapping each verse to itself, but it did not make any difference. I closed and restarted BW after adding these lines to the verse map. (I tried to attach a screen capture of the lines I added, but I can't figure out how to insert it.)

Has anyone got any explanations--or better, solutions--for this issue?

    Thanks!

I think this has been discussed in some detail in the past on this forum, but I don't want to take the time to track it down. My recollection is that BW keys their notes to the NRS version, since BW pre-creates file folders for each book for the verse notes, and NRS has probably the most books of the apocrypha. If you look at the verse map for NRS you will see that it cross-maps these two verses.

    Two work-arounds:
    1) When you want to make a note on Act 10:37 make NRS your search version, and it will save the note properly. (you will also have to have NRS as your search version to retrieve your note)
    2) Delete the 2 lines from the NRS verse map. If you use the Tools / Option / Verse Maps route, click on "Save" after making your change, and the change takes effect immediately. If you edit the nrs.vmf file manually, you have to exit BW, delete the nrs.vmc file, and restart BW to get it to work. Caveat: I have not tested this 2nd work-around, but I think it would work. I am not responsible for any side-effects that tinkering with Mark Eddy's verse maps might cause -- I think only Mark himself, and possibly Mike Bushell, who wrote BW, understand all the ramifications of the verse mapping process.
    3) Or just let the notes for both verses live in the same file. If you usually have the same search version when you are using your notes, BW will save to / retrieve from the same file each time.

Thanks, Jim! I'll explore and think about this more before I decide what to do.
