BibleWorks 10 suddenly stopped loading

Hi, I have BibleWorks 10 installed on my Windows 10 Dell laptop and suddenly it no longer finishes loading when I want to run it. I get the initial splash screen, and the process appears in Windows Task Manager, but it never actually loads so I can use it. I tried rebooting my machine (of course), but that didn't help.

Any ideas and/or suggestions?

You can try going to the BW directory and deleting the BW1000.ini file. That will force it to start with defaults. Do you get an error message?

At some point between the time I posted my SOS back in June and the time you responded, my BW10 miraculously started working again, so I stopped checking back here at the forum and I didn't see your reply, which I now regret.

Thank you so much for your suggestion! I had the same problem yesterday and just now I logged back in and saw what you wrote here. I hunted down the BW1000.ini and it worked!

Both times I had this problem I wasn't getting any error message. After trying to load BW10 a couple of times and rebooting my machine I started monitoring Task Manager. This time was the same as last: "I get the initial splash screen, and the process appears in Windows Task Manager, but it never actually loads so I can use it." What happens is, both the splash screen and the process disappear. So it appears to be crashing before fully loading, at least from my layman's perspective.

But thank you once again! BW10 is an invaluable resource to me. I have since invested in Logos, and that's nice, too, but BW10 is still the first app I launch every time I start my computer and nothing Logos offers has replaced its functionality for me. I pray it will come back stronger than ever.
