Hi, Mark, and welcome. I would point you to Paul's letter to the Philippians, esp. 4:4-7:

4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. 5 Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. 6 Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

In prayer, open your heart to God. "Let your requests be made known": hold nothing back; it's not like God doesn't know already! But opening yourself to God makes room for God's Spirit to touch you with comfort, guidance, and peace. The future is not ours to know; the past is also beyond our reach. Only in this moment can we offer ourselves to God in gratitude and trust. What God desires you to do, God will make time and opportunity for you to do. If there is something that is not yours to do, in God's will, then it's not your concern, don't worry about it; God will provide.

As for heaven, Jesus has already gained that for us; there is no "time" in which we have to make it there: that's done, "It is finished," as he said on the cross. What we do now is live as those who know we are on our way to that home.

Blessing and peace to you, brother--the peace, as Paul says, that is beyond understanding, beyond reasoning about, peace of the heart rather than the mind. Minds worry; hearts trust. Sometimes (not always, but sometimes) we must let the trusting heart lead the worried mind.
