Default This software is classified as abandonware.

This software is classified as abandonware.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abandonware

    According to Wikipedia:

Commercial software owned by a company no longer in business

When no owning entity of a software exists, all activities (support, distribution, IP activities etc.) in relationship to this software have ceased.

If the rights to a software are non-recoverable in legal limbo ("orphaned work"), also the software's rights can not be bought by another company, there can not be copyright enforcement etc.

Also, once a software product has become abandonware for a developer, even historically important software might get lost forever very easily, as numerous cases have shown.

I have taken it upon myself to preserve the software, I have uploaded the last revision 6 iso file to my dropbox because I don't know how long the google drive link will be live.

If you have issues with your software please direct message me for trouble shooting if you already own it.

    Default BibleWorks is not Abandonware

BibleWorks is not abandonware. The forum, online help system and program are still being maintained to retain viability on Windows. Who do you think pays to keep these things active? No new versions are planned at this time. But people who purchased a license to use BibleWorks 10 have not been abandoned. Furthermore, online activation is still required for installation and the activation server is still active. Even if none of this were so, the program contains copyrighted material from dozens of sources, including BibleWorks itself. BibleWorks is still a licensed corporation in the state of Virginia. When people purchased BibleWorks they obtained a license from us and from individual database owners. Those copyrights are still valid. They are still covered by the 70+ rule and the copyright interests of the various companies who partnered with us will be protected by us and by them. Wait another 70 years and you can talk about abandonware.

Contrary to popular belief, BibleWorks is far from abandoned. It remains a widely discussed and revered software among online communities.

Its uniqueness cannot be denied - I was personally taken aback by its impressive features upon discovering it.

Among its offerings is an extensive collection of modern English translations of the Bible, with the exception of possibly the TEV/GNB. This is just the tip of the iceberg, as it also houses a thorough selection of Bibles in various foreign languages spanning over 20 different languages.

And the best part? All this information is still readily available. I firmly believe that BibleWorks is very much alive and kicking.

I just want to give a huge thanks and respect to the developers.

    All the best,

Thanks for the kind words. I too regret that no new licenses can be sold, but the program has not been abandoned. The forum, activation server, help databases and youtube channel are still functional. In addition to that the program contains tons of copyrighted software that are integral to the function of the program. For that reason the program can never become abandonware, until all those copyright holders go away - not gonna happen any time soom. Also I am committed to keeping the program compatible with windows. That hasn't involved much because Windows, unlike Apple, has a good track record at maintaining compatibility.
