Forum new post problem

I received four notifications from the forum that four different threads had new posts. When I visited those threads they contained older posts but nothing from today and not the content that the email said would be there.
I want to see if this post shows up at least.

I received four emails from the forum yesterday that began "[forum member name] has just replied to a thread that you have subscribed to..."

I went online to view those posts and check for other new posts. There were none. This morning I searched more carefully and found the posts, but two were posted in July, one in August and one in September. There had been other posts in each of the threads since then.

I don't know why I received notification that someone had just replied when the replies were written months ago.
