If the downloading of a large file fails repeatedly the solution is often to use a download manager. I used http://dn3.freedownloadmanager.org/5..._x64_setup.exe

Download it and install it. Try downloading some files with it to confirm that it works for you. Then download the BW iso. If you still have problems, write out the steps you followed and post back. I would be glad to help more.

I have a complete backup of my BW folder. That would be an essential element of recovering from a hard drive crash.

On Windows 10 the iso file that you downloaded can be located in File Explorer. Double clicking it will create a new temporary drive that you can find in File Explorer. You double click the setup file on the new drive that you will find there and the installation will begin. The new drive will disappear when the computer is rebooted.

Everything after beginning the installation should be familiar if you have installed and activated BW before.

Again, post back if there are additional questions, giving the steps you took and what happened if something went wrong. Or asking for clarification if something isn't clear.

I have downloaded the July 18 ISO, and I also have my original BW10 ISO from when I originally purchased.

If down the road I need to reinstall/install on a new machine, I am assuming that I could safely install using the July 18 ISO file, without referencing my original ISO at all.

In other words, I could now get away with deleting my old ISO file (as long as I carefully maintain my copy of the July 18 ISO and my unlock codes). Am I correct about this?

The current state of the program can always be installed using the latest ISO along with activation codes. If in the future a new installation is required it would be best to check the BW web page to see if there is a new ISO. If so, download that and use it. If not re-use the July 18 ISO.

Of course you also want to backup any user created files outside of your current computer so that you could recover those in case your entire system crashed and could not be recovered.

My question is:- does my flash drive contain exactly this ISO or this ISO is even newer?

I received a USB flash drive, not an ISO. Most of the files are dated June 6, 2018.

I downloaded BibleWorks10rev6 on July 17, 2018. Most of the files are dated July 9, 2018.

All of the data*.cab files are different as well as the 5 bw1000*.* files in the refresh folder.

You could open the crc.def file from your flash drive or ISO (after it is mounted) in NotePad and see if it has this content:
(This is the content of that file as included in the latest ISO, BibleWorks10rev6.) If there are differences, you should download the latest ISO and use it. It would be best to wait until you are going to use it in case it would change between now and then.

We've posted an updated BW10 ISO file. I don't advise you download it at this point unless you have lost your installation media. The reason I advise delay is that a) there is no rush to get the file, and b) if people clobber the server (the file is 22GB) it will likely come down and then nobody will be happy, and c) the ISO file will likely be updated again. There is nothing significant that is new in this ISO file if you have kept up with the updates. Furthermore, updates to the EXE continue to be posted in the in-program updaters. If you were up to date on July 24, 2018, don’t get the ISO. If you do a BW10 reinstall after July 24, 2018 you should do it from the ISO, not old media.

The links to the updated ISO file are on the webpage. The ISO file requires you have valid BW10 activation codes to run it. So, don't waste your time downloading it if you don't have legitimate activation codes.

This is a quick summary of the procedure with a change or two made. Backup any user created files. Uninstall BibleWorks. I found that using the same procedure that I had previously used to install BibleWorks worked better than using the Programs and Features module in the Windows Control Panel. If you run the older installer that you used to install BibleWorks10 in the first place, it should give you the option to remove the current installation. After it is removed, reboot the computer.

If it does not appear, find it in File Explorer. Usually it will be D:\. Double click the setup file on the new drive.
