Anyone worked out a way to change font size without stopping BW from working?

Default 64-bit Mac Installer-Beta on MacOS Catalina

Last night I updated my Mac to the newly released MacOS Catalina. For the last several hours I tried time and again to install BibleWorks 10 through the 64-bit Mac Installer-Beta with no success. When the 4.41GB Installer file was copied into the Applications Folder and I tried to open it, BW10 kept on crashing.
That痴 so sad!!! BibleWorks has been my go-to Bible Software for the last 20+ years and even though I own both - Logos (for 15 years) and Accordance (for 5 years), neither of them can match the brilliant design and versatility of BibleWorks 10 as a translation and exegesis software. I知 willing to pay to be able to have a functioning 64-bit Mac Installer and I知 sure, I知 far from being the only BibleWorks 10 owner, who would pay for the development of one.
If there is still someone on the BibleWorks team, who reads this forum, would you PLEASE, consider hiring the developer of the 64-bit Mac Installer-BETA to finish his/her job. I知 sure you will be able to get your money back through the support of people like me, who need BibleWorks to work on the Mac.
I pray and hope someone will listen!!!

    Default me too

I just want to echo what Julian said -- I've been using Bibleworks for years, there's nothing like it, and I too would be willing to pay for an updated mac version that works with Catalina.

What can we do to make that happen?

    Thanks

I can't install BW10 after the Catalina upgrade as well.

I echo the sentiments of Julian and Catalina.

After years of telling us that BW will not sell anything but biblical texts since they were sure they would go out of business some day, BW finally went out of business. So they had a vision and they stuck with it. Only their vision kind of sucks for the rest of us.

Default I haven't seen any updates since this June , 2018 post

I'm starting to lose hope. I really, really love and use my BW10. But the x64 beta listed below doesn't work. Is there any work being done to make it work? I've posted before but have received no replies. I'm trying one more time. Somebody let me know if hope is still alive. Thank you so much

    Have fun!

6/11/2018 Edited to add the following:

I should have given more details on this. I'll add more as it comes to mind, but for now here are a few tips:

    1. This dmg is large compared to the smaller x86 (32-bit) dmg installers. This is because we made the x64 installer to avoid needing the Installshield step. When you open the dmg and copy BibleWorks into your Applications folder, it sets up an installed copy of BibleWorks.
    2. You will need valid activation codes for BibleWorks 10 (and your modules). When you run this x64 version of BibleWorks the first time, it will request that you type/paste in the codes.
    3. The x64 installation is already fully patched. You don't need to apply any of the updates (except for the current EXE update). You can ignore the other database updates. We'll be cleaning that up over the next few weeks.
    4. There are only a few, minor areas where the x64 is not identical to the x86 version.
    5. If you need to change the x64 installation (e.g. add manuscript images), insert your BW10 USB media (or mount your BW10 ISO file), and then select from the main menu BibleWorks | Add or remove BibleWorks content. This will start the Installshield interface and let you add/remove components to your current installation.
    6. If you have an older version of the BW10 USB drives or downloaded ISO (e.g. rev1, rev. 2, rev. 3), some of the free databases we released after the initial release are only available in a newer rev (or via the x86 program updates). The final rev released in July will contain all of these databases. Until then, you can copy them from an x86 (normal 32-bit) installation (from the BibleWorks 10/databases folder).
    7. Things to avoid in the x64 beta:

    • Don't change the default font sizes in Tools | Options | Fonts
    • The View | Zoom options do work.

It may be that the only hope now for BW on a Mac is written on the BibleWorks home page and has been there since BW closed.

"What about the Mac version of the program?

BibleWorks updates for the PC will also work on the Mac platform. We will do our best to insure compatibility of BibleWorks 10 with future Mac OS changes but the situation is more complex than with the PC platform. The coming macOS versions require 64-bit programs. BibleWorks is in good shape for this, and we will soon release a full x64 Mac Installer dmg. We will also be working with CodeWeavers to explore options for them to continue compatibility support for the BibleWorks Mac Installer. Finally, in any case, Mac users will likely be able to fall back to using a virtual machine (like Virtual Box, Fusion, or Parallels)."

    Default I wholeheartedly agree!

I wholeheartedly agree. In fact, every single point Julian has made is almost word for word what I would say and offer. It is crazy that we cannot get a working x64 bit version. As BWorks is my go to software even though I own all the credible Bible software programs. There's got to be someone who can help.
