After the two latest updates I have to manually restart BW each time I apply the update, i.e., BW just shuts down when I apply the patch and doesn't restart. FYI.

I have had the same problem with the last two updates of having to reboot the program manually. Plus, the program is not actually updated according to the update number, mine still reads 10.0.5.882. I tried going into the BW folders and running the patch rev1_exe_10.0.5.893.pbn - but with the same results, no reboot, no update.
Unfortunately, we introduced a bug around EXE 882 which broke the updater. You can get it working again with a newer EXE (https://installupd.bibleworksllc.com...001/bw1000.exe) or EXE older than 882.

Thank you, Michael, for the info on the problem and even more so for the link you provided to fix it.
It took a little work to delete the old BW1000_exe file (dated 3/16/2017) and replace it with the new one (dated 3/23/2017) supplied by your link. I had to completely reboot the computer, delete the old file, and then copy the new BW1000_exe file into place. It was then necessary to click on the update patch rev1_exe_10.0.5.893_pbn in the patches/applied folder and run the update to get rid of the Microsoft notification alerting me each time I loaded BW that I was about to run a web-generated file.
All is now well, and I am again using my favorite computer program to its fullest.
Thank you for a Great Bible program and for great support.

I tried the link you gave and it doesn't work. So then I reverted to 811 and it tells me that no updates are available.
