Rename the .vmf file you want to replace.
Rename the new file to what the old one was (verid.vmf, where verid is your version name).
Tools / Options / Bible Versions / Verse Maps
    Make sure "Enable" is checked.
    Click on "Check Consistency"
    Click on "Save"

The new vmf should be in effect.

Another possibility is that, if the verse map file you want to use is already installed in BW for another version, open the BW Options Window.
Choose the verse map editor and locate the language and the version you want to copy.
Highlight and copy the entire verse map.
    Open the destination verse map.
    Highlight the entire verse map.
Paste the copied verse map in the place of the destination verse map.
Click the "Save" button and close the BW Options Window.
The new/updated verse map file will be in effect.
