Default Why does BibleWorks say "House-Cleaning Please Wait" when exiting program?

    Hello BibleWorks Forum!

When I exit the BibleWorks program it has started waying "House-Cleaning Please Wait" for a second or two before it closes.

It just started doing that a month or two ago. It's never did that before. I don't think I tinkered with the settings or anything (or not that I can remember).

Other than the message the program seems to be working just fine.

I am wondering is there something I need to repair?

I have a BibleWorks Version 6.0. The operating system for my computer is Windows 7.

This is normal behavior, and not something to be concerned about. I don't know exactly what this "housekeeping" involves, but I presume it's a matter of deleting temporary files or the like. I wonder if there are other processes active on your computer that are slowing things down just enough so that what BW formerly did so quickly that there wasn't time to display the message now takes a second or two, long enough to display the message so you'll know (more or less) what's going on.

When you exit BibleWorks it saves a number of settings, your last verse in each tab, etc. That is the "housecleaning." BW has always done this on close, at least the way I have it configured. In the BW Options Window, under "Shutdown Options" I have checked "Save setup options on exit." Perhaps, if you did not have this option checked in the past, you did not see the "Housecleaning" window before. But it is still around in BW9 and was around long before BW6.
