Default Kennicott's Vetus Testamentum Hebraicum cum variis lectionibus

    Dear Friends,
the best TC Edition of the Hebrew Tanach is the Kennicott Bible with much collation data. It is online:
    http://aleph.nli.org.il/nnl/dig/books/bk002093934.html
How can I import the two volumes in BibleWorks?
My problem is that I cannot download these two
volumes on my hard disk. I have to view them online.

Is there a way to get it on my PC and in BibleWorks ?

Hmm... This version of the Samaritan Pentateuch was behind the recently released Samaritan Pentateuch user version.

As far as getting this into BW, the only likely means of doing so would be to first pull the images from the DJVU files on JNUL website. Then (preferably) process them to reduce the file size and convert them into a CHM file similar to the ones produced for various NT manuscripts. Otherwise, the only way to "get this text into BW" would be to transcribe the Hebrew text and apparatus (which would be quite an expensive process).

ok, thank you, Jim ! You're right, that would be quite an expensive process and I'm not sure whether it's worth doing it. I was able to download the djvu-files on my harddisk meanwhile. Do you know, Jim, whether the mss numbers in the Kennicott apparatus correspond to the De Rossi data?

Hi Peter, may I know how did you succeeded in downloading the kennicott files? It would seem that the bundle option is not working...

Default Can't view the DJVU file

    Hi,

Thanks for pointing us to those files.

I can download them, but I've installed two different DJVU viewers, and neither can actually see the images. One just gives me 400+ blank pages, the other says "invalid image format" or something like that.

What software and version are you using to view the files?

Yes, of course - Kennicott is a must have, as our OT based on just Codex Leningradensis is not very much, one should compare more Hebrew MSS.
Send me an Email - or a PN with your Adresses and I'll send you the Download link with a working Version of Kennicott.
