How to organize text collections?

Hi all
I have a question regarding organization of text collections. My feeling is that the way I am getting along this issue at the moment may not be the intended one.

I use the Tabs to keep order of different text collections, that is, I freeze the tab content (marked by two **) and try to remeber, where I have put what (always confusing).

So:
- tab 1: general Bible searches.
- tab 2: Josephus
- tab 3: Qumran
- tab 4: OT pse.epi
- and so on.

Is there a better way to define and call up text collections?
I way that would not enquire you to remember 12 different tabs by number only?

And if, how do you then use your tabs?

I do the exact same thing. Several of us have asked a few times on this board for the capability to name the tabs, but I'm nor sure if anyone has submitted this as a feature request yet.

Here's an idea...

Everyone that wants to add a feature request to be able to name the tags, please reply to this post in the affirmative. After several days, if there a number of signatories, I will submit this as a feature request with all of our names signed to it.

I use a similar system, but do remember that you can right-click on a tab and "Save Tabs to Disk." Similarly you can right click and load the tabs. At least with this you don't have to keep the tabs frozen.

Hmm, I must say that it would surprise me if there is not another way to get by this - since the ability to call up different text groups is close to the heart of what you want to do with BW. There must be a better and way ...

I would say right now this is one area where BibleWorks is still a bit behind. It's kind of predictable. Two versions ago, there was not nearly the amount of textual diversity that was available, and now with many more resources, the organization of that material is perhaps not as sharp as it could be. Other than using tabs, my other recommendation would be to use the Favorites feature.

In the Command line, click the first long green bar, when the menu pops up choose "Edit Search/Display Favorites". Edit these how you will and define each collection what is easiest for you. For instance I made all the Apostolic Fathers texts part of a collection I call "fathers". Now if I want to access that collection I simply type "d fathers". In the same way you could make collections called "study" for versions or set up you want to study Scriptures another called "read" for versions or set up you want for reading, etc.

Michael, thanks a lot - I can see how this feature will add to the ease of use. Great.
And maybe you are right: in the future we will probably see some improvement in this department.
