Drop down Version List - too many!

I am so pleased to have so many wonderful versions at my fingertips in BW. When I want to change to a different version, I usually just ESC-ESC and type in the three letter code of the version (or the name of a display group). BUT, I don't remember the codes of texts I use less frequently, and when I click on the drop down list, there are so many that it is getting hard to quickly find what I want. The biggest confusion is finding the targumim.
CGM/T FTM/T NFM/T NMM/T PJE/M/T PTE TAM/R TNE TNK TPJ
As you can see, alphabetically they are all over the place.
Yes, I can pop open the Choose Version Display box, but I find that to be a bunch of clicking and scrolling.
So, I would like to see a way to organize the drop down list, perhaps by language, perhaps with flyouts of the options.
If others of you like the idea, chime in, and if enough of us like it, maybe it could become a future feature!

I read your post with interest.

I consider that one click in the Browse Window, noting a three-letter code and typing it in the command line of the Search Window is not a tremendous amount of work.

However I do have a related problem. I am interested in the Apostolic Fathers, especially 1Cl. The English version seems to be that of Robert-Donaldson (http://www.earlychristianwritings.com/text/1clement-roberts.html). However if one were writing up one's study how would one reference the English version of the Apostolic Fathers? Also how wouold one refererence the Greek version?

I don't know how exactly you would cite it because there are so many different variations of citation guidelines. You do best to follow whatever format is going to be acceptable for whomever you might be writing (SBL, APA, Turabian, etc.).

On the specific copyright information concerning BibleWorks databases, go the Help menu and click "Show Copyright Information" if you want to know if there is a physical source behind the BW material:

Many thanks for your reply to my query.

You answered my question concisely and clearly. In fact you also gave me a general method of finding out about resources.

As you know I used to be principally a Logos (Libronix Digital Library System) user. However recently I am using BW7 more. I am still more at ease with Logos, but familiarity with BW7 is growing.

In Logos it is easy to find the information I wanted: ‘Help -> About This Resource’. Also Citations Styles are clearly shown ( ‘Tools -> Options -> General -> Citation Styles’.)

However you have shown me that in BW7 using ‘Help -> Show Copyright Information’ one can find out the origins of resources. This is, presumably, of vital importance to those hoping to publish their researches and is also of interest to general users of BW.

So, once more, sincerest thanks for your prompt and expert reply.

Dear Mark,

Perhaps using the letter 'v' shortcut key in the Browse Window does what you want. This shortcut opens a list of versions organized by language.

I've been with BW since 3.5 and still frequently get surprised by cool stuff like this.

Someone needs to throw a damper on this party, so it might as well be me...

I'd like to see a function change in this feature, i.e., instead of merely selecting the search version in this drop down list, I'd like to see it revised so that it would merely toggle display versions. It takes virtually no effort to simply type the search version on the CL, but it does take more effort to add/subtract multiple display versions.

Naturally, since this is a function change, it will require that others weigh in if they would also like to see the drop down list function in this fashion, as opposed to the way it functions now.

I'm not sure I totally understand what you mean. How would this be different from displaying favorites?
