Mike,
I will certainly keep my eye out for piracy of BibleWorks. That said, I have not witnessed any to this point, and BW remains a crucial component of my Bible study. I would hate to lose it...
No thank you. I'd feel terribly guilty if I had to break that blissful bubble of yours.
I had no intention of citing media outlets. That professing Christians have seen their First Amendment rights of speech and religion erode in recent years is a fact so obvious it requires no...
I should probably let Mike speak for himself, but I assume he is alluding more to recent restrictions in free speech (and possible further restrictions) than to changes in conventional greetings or...
Mike, you're the best. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do.
Hi Ken, Jim's point about doing a search with a morphology version is a good one. Or you might want to try a search without vowel point/dagesh/accent sensitive searching enabled. Otherwise, the...
This isn't the first update since BW officially shut down. I went ahead and downloaded the update a couple of days ago with no problems so far, FWIW.
Brian, another possibility is that you have minimized your browse window toolbar. At the top of the browse window, to the right of where it says "Browse Window," there is a small arrow pointing...
Great post, David.
I assume he is referring to the material posted by this new user: https://www.bibleworks.com/forums/member.php?8556-eelfnghhgh
Great to hear!
Certainly the fact that BW was not selling in the same league as Logos or Accordance was a factor. But any comparison between the price and features of those two programs and the price and features...
John, you do know how to access the CNTTS apparatus on BW, right? I understand there will be occasions when you need to reference the UBS apparatus, but the CNTTS is far more detailed and helpful.
MGVH's option is a good one. Also, you could select a morphology version (e.g., BGM, BYM) and then type in your desired word in the command line.
You should have been provided a module code for NIVO (1984 NIV). If you have kept it, you should be able to do a "Modify," and enter in that code.
Interesting thoughts. However, the BibleWorks site is not subject to the whims of an overlord like Facebook or Twitter. Who is going to censor the BW site--the hosting service? Considering BW owns...
Before BW10, it was a single arrow that clicked back verse by verse. BW10 shows the dropdown of all the previous 100 verses or so. For going back a single verse, it does add an extra step; but with...
David,
That is a very good and uplifting post. It is wonderful to hear that your laptop and Bibleworks install drive have been recovered.
I don't believe it is--at least I don't have it.
I certainly don't hate you for saying it, but I do disagree with you. If I have a program that supplies my computer-based needs for studying the text, and will for the foreseeable future, why would...
This idea has already been rebuffed. As Mike said, "Open sourcing the program is really out of the question. It is too dependent on licensed material."
I am heartbroken over the discontinuation of BW, but this comment from Mike is very reassuring to hear. In light of this, I intend BW to remain my primary Bible software for the foreseeable future. ...
Type "BGM" in the command line. BGT includes both the LXX and Greek NT (NA28). The "M" indicates that you are searching the morphology version.
Right click in the command line. About 2/3 down...
Printed Bibles must drive you guys nuts. Every one I've used omits the "1" before the first verse of a chapter. ;)
I can't speak as to BW's "why," but I prefer not having the first verse number. It seems redundant to me, as that information is supplied by the reference at the end. Maybe that's BW's thinking as...
