View Full Version : French bible versions

Please excuse me writing in English.

My friend is a missionary in France, and I was excited to show him all the French databases in BW.

He was interested to see them, but he mainly uses 2 versions not in BW.

Does anyone have a user-compiled version of the "Nouvelle version segond révisée" also known as the
"Colombe" version, and the "Semeur" version, please?

I asked if BibleWorks might include these in future versions, but it was suggested I first ask if there are user-compiled versions already.

Thanks for your help.

Hellooo, down there !

I saw your query about the French Bible du Semeur.
Your friend in France can download a version for BibleWorks
from my site at ... (http://currah.info/pub)

[August 2007. Sorry, the Semeur file got deleted from that
site and was lost in an hard drive crash. If I can get my
hands on the raw text again, I shall make up a new data base.]

I once started preparing a version of the Traduction Oecumenique de la Bible (TOB) based on the BW version, but also including the abundant notes, which are wonderfully informative. However, transcribing that was very time-consuming, prohibitive for me, and I desisted.

Is there an electronic version of the TOB with notes, that could be converted to BW format?
