First, I found an outstanding freeware icon program. CNET editors give it five stars, and from what I've seen, it's worth every star, and then some. In fact, it is in every respect a commercial quality program, only its free. If you're interested in doing anything with icons, here it is --

Secondly, I'm borderline obsesive about keeping my clipboard empty. If you have a whole bunch in your clipboard, it can slow down programs because of memory allocation. Anyway, I ALWAYS keep my clipboard empty if I'm not using it. Until now, I either had to load BOSS and choose that option from the menu, or open the clipboard itself and then empty it. Either way, I got tired of the three steps it took, so I just wrote a quick program where all you have to do is click on it and your clipboard is emptied. It plays a short "splash" sound to let you know that the function was successful.

It's freeware, of course, no registration, no nothing. Here it is --

Just scroll down to the bottom.

If you have Windows 7, you may have noticed that you can't even access your clipboard anymore. You can copy and paste, of course, but you can't open it because it's not there anymore.

If you want access to your clipboard, therefore, simply copy the clipboard from Vista or XP and paste it into your Windows\System folder.

You don't have to copy it over for my EmptyClip program to work, but if you want to actually see your clipboard and what's in it, then you have to copy it over.
