Hi. I'm now living in Taiwan. I only have simplified Chinese installed on my computer for BW8. Are there other versions of the Chinese bible for BW8? For example is there a traditional chinese bible? And if there are others out there, is it possible to add them without reinstall my entire BW8 program?

instead of ChineseGB, go to ChineseB5, and there should be CU5 and CNV5 --- both are 'traditional Chinese' Bibles.
God bless,
-Andley.

In case you have not already figured it out, yes, you can add versions without doing a complete re-install. Just put the installation disk in your DVD drive and chose to modify the installation. Be sure to check all the versions which you want to install on your hard drive. As already noted, there are 4 Chinese versions for BW8. 2 of them use traditional characters, 2 use the simplified characters.

Ok I figured it out and now have the Traditional and Simplified Chinese versions installed on my laptop. And since I'm focused on learning Traditional Chinese this will help a lot. I did notice right away that the regular sized fonts do not show enough detail on some characters in Traditional Chinese for them to be readable in my opinion. It would be very nice if BW were able to allow language fonts like that to be enlarged without enlarging other languages on the same page so that as much data as possible can be retained in the viewing screen. I'll go see if this is possible now.

Ok I was able to modify BW8 and install more fonts so now I have Traditional fonts instead of just Simplified. The first thing I noticed was that Traditional fonts are hard to read at the installation size (10 pt). So I went to adjust the fonts to a larger size. I could not find the font in the panel. I found Vietnamese, but no Chinese. Then I decide to write this note. As I was writing it, I double checked to make sure I had not missed something.
There was a button on the panel for fonts that says 'double-byte fonts'. I have never heard that term (I've only been working on Chinese since last year). So I didn't know it would include other Asian languages. But when I checked in there, voila there was Chinese as an option and I could enlarge Chinese without enlarging English or other languages! Exactly what I wanted.
I think font modification is something I do with BW every year or so, and having a way to easily remember the option is a good idea for BW. Also clearly identifying what things are so that guys like me don't have to spend 20 minutes digging around might be nice sprucer uppers for this fantastic Bible tool.
