Hebrew fonts for Web Pages

Is anyone using Hebrew fonts on their web pages, and, if so, are you showing the Hebrew via image files (using the <IMG> tag) or are you requiring visitors to download a Hebrew font?

Any insight here would be helpful to me. My web site is called "Hebrew for Christians," and teaches basic biblical Hebrew for new learners: http://www.hebrew4christians.com (http://www.hebrew4christians.com/). I am presently using graphic images to display Hebrew characters, but it would be a whole lot faster for me to be able to somehow use a font online.... (I understand that the newer fonts include unicode for Hebrew and Greek characters, but I wonder about the reliability of using this method).

At our site for the Comprehensive Aramaic Lexicon (http://cal1.cn.huc.edu (http://cal1.cn.huc.edu/)), we rely primarily on unicode for our pages requiring massive amounts of text. Even so, we urge our users to download some of the better public domain Unicode fonts (particularly: "sbl hebrew" (http://www.sbl-site.org/Resources/default.aspx) and "Cardo" to have more pleasing results on screen, for the built in hebrew fonts of the new OS's leave something to be desired when implementing vowels.

I have not implemented any text with SBL-Hebrew using accent marks, but it should work well according to the manual.

Going Unicode with your site will set you up for the future, but for now it simply exchanges one problem for another.
