Removing Bibleworks Helpful Hint Pop-up

As of June 15, 2018 BibleWorks ceased operation as a provider of Bible software tools. The old BibleWorks web site, activation server and forum are gone. This new forum is intended to provide a way for the thousands of people still using BibleWorks to communicate with one another. Click on "General BibleWorks Discussion" above to view messages.Or you can jump directly to two topics of general interest to everyone:

Welcome to the New BibleWorks Forum
How to Activate a New Installation of BibleWorks 8,9 or 10.

To post to this forum you must register your account. After you register and accept the TERMS OF USE, you will be sent an e-mail. You must respond to this e-mail and be activated by an administrator before you can post. This is necessary to limit the use of this forum for spam.

We get a LOT of forum registrations that we cannot activate because we got no response to the confirmation e-mail that was sent. A few are returned as undeliverable and we assume that they are spammers. We have no way of knowing if the other confirmation e-mails were even received. If you registered and never received the confirmation e-mail, you can send a message to forum@biblework.com. But check your spam folder first. Of course you are free to browse messages without registering. You just can't post to the forum or respond to messages.

Removing Bibleworks Helpful Hint Pop-up

Post by Pradesh »

I have selected the checkbox to not have the pop-up keep appearing, but it hasn't worked. Although it does not show up immediately when I restart Bibleworks, it does come up later. Can this pop-up be disabled permanently?

I am running Bibleworks 10 on Windows 11 running within UTM (4.7.4) on MacBook Air (M3).

Hello Pradesh,
Here is a suggestion; it looks like you might not be saving your INI file when you exit BW.
In the menu list at the top of the BW window, click on Tools / Options... / General / Flags / Shutdown Options.
If "Save setup options on exit" is not checked, click on it.
if "Initialize INI File on exit" is checked, click on it to uncheck it.

Your settings are saved by BW only when you exit the BW program. If the operating system (Windows) shuts down BW your changes will not be saved.

Hope this helps, Jim
