As of June 15, 2018 BibleWorks ceased operation as a provider of Bible software tools. The old BibleWorks web site, activation server and forum are gone. This new forum is intended to provide a way for the thousands of people still using BibleWorks to communicate with one another. Click on "General BibleWorks Discussion" above to view messages.Or you can jump directly to two topics of general interest to everyone:
To post to this forum you must register your account. After you register and accept the TERMS OF USE, you will be sent an e-mail. You must respond to this e-mail and be activated by an administrator before you can post. This is necessary to limit the use of this forum for spam.
We get a LOT of forum registrations that we cannot activate because we got no response to the confirmation e-mail that was sent. A few are returned as undeliverable and we assume that they are spammers. We have no way of knowing if the other confirmation e-mails were even received. If you registered and never received the confirmation e-mail, you can send a message to forum@biblework.com. But check your spam folder first. Of course you are free to browse messages without registering. You just can't post to the forum or respond to messages.
Hello, I am very pleased about this forum.
I have been using Bibleworks for decades and consider it the most helpful tool for my daily Bible study.
Nevertheless, I still have questions about the program from time to time and have gratefully used the previous forums.
Today I have the following problem: When I copy text from a website and then paste it into Bibleworks Note using Str+V, umlauts and other special characters are not displayed. Instead, I get strange characters, e.g., boxes with question marks.
How can I prevent this? Please help me!
Regards, PTR
PTR,
I can't duplicate it either. It would help if you could give a specific example, as John suggests. The editor in BibleWorks is based on the Microsoft Richedit Control. So it should support anything that Microsoft supports. Just Google "Microsoft Richedit keyboard shortcuts". Also if you select some text and right click on it BibleWorks will present you with several paste options, including formatted and unformatted text. Did you try that? The Microsoft control by default will look at the various formats on the clipboard and paster what it thinks is the best option. So the results also depend on the source web page puts on the clipboard. You may not have a font installed that supports their text. But again, examples always help.
