McClintock and Strong's Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature†
McClintock and Strong's massive Cyclopedia is now available in the Dictionary Tab in BibleWorks 10. The 12-volume work contains nearly 50,000 articles covering the people, places and events of the Bible, and also theological concepts, heresies and creeds, ecclesiastical terms, and biographical sketches of notable religious figures throughout history – and much more! Wider in scope than most Bible dictionaries, the publishers intended it to be scholarly, yet without technical jargon – making it a valuable tool for students and pastors alike.
Lange's Commentary on the Entire Bible†
Lange's extensive 25-volume A Commentary on the Holy Scriptures with Critical, Doctrinal, and Homiletical sections is now available for all BibleWorks 10 users!
New Dictionary Tab with Eerdmans Dictionary of the Bible †
The main window now has a new dedicated tab for dictionaries and Lexicons. As you move the mouse over Bible text, this tab instantly displays the relevant dictionary or lexicon entry. We've also included the Eerdmans Dictionary of the Bible and the International Standard Bible Encyclopedia!
The Concise Greek–English Lexicon of the New Testament (2009) (Frederick William Danker with Kathryn Krug)
From the Preface: "The publication in 2000 of the third edition of A Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament and Other Early Christian Literature (BDAG) endeavored to meet some of the demand for exhibition of numerous developments in lexicography within recent decades. Chief among these developments has been an interest in expanding the definition of source words beyond the translations or glosses traditionally found in the literature. Inasmuch as the older method permeated shorter dictionaries of the Greek New Testament, the present work takes on new directions.
"This lexicon is therefore neither a revision of any previous small-scale dictionary of New Testament Greek, nor an abridgment of BDAG, although I have certainly benefited from innumerable sources of information, ancient and modern, that make their mark in the pages of BDAG."
BibleWorks Manuscript Project
Two new manuscript transcriptions have been added: Ephraemi Rescriptus (M-04) and Claromontanus (M-06). Neither has morphology yet. Both are based on Tischendorf transcriptions. Neither has image sets, but M-04 does have images of the Tischendorf transcription. Vaticanus and Sinaiticus now have completed morphology. A complete morphology for Alexandrinus has also been added.†
WTT MORPH 4.16 Update
The Westminster Hebrew OT morphology database has been updated to the latest version. The Hebrew Vocabulary files have also been synched with the changes in the MORPH database so that they share common lemma spellings.
The Friberg AGNT morphology has now been updated to NA28. Also a Byzantine (Robinson-Pierpont) version has been added.
Friberg AGNT 2014
