New Czech Version: Bible, 21st Century Translation
We just posted a new Czech Version: "Bible, 21st Century Translation" . This is a new contemporary translation of the Bible produced by a team of translators headed up by Alexandr Flek.

New Spanish Version: La Biblia de Nuestro Pueblo
We just posted a new Spanish version, La Biblia de Nuestro Pueblo. It is the Central American Spanish version corresponding to the PER version (below).

New Spanish Version: La Biblia del Peregrino; Korean update
We just posted a new Spanish version, La Biblia del Peregrino. It is intended primarily for users in Spain, but a version intended for Latin America is forthcoming.

In addition, the official Korean Revised Version was added to BibleWorks. It is very close to the existing KOR version in BibleWorks.

New Turkish New Testament Available
A new Turkish New Testament version by Dr. Thomas Cosmades is now available for free download for BibleWorks 8 users. This version contains a Browse Window text version and an HTML Help version. The HTML Help version is tagged to appear in the Resource Summary Window.

Early Church Fathers update

After a lot of work and beta testing, the updated Early Church Fathers (ECF) chm module is being posted this morning. Here are some of the changes that are made in this update:

New Aramaic Resources

We are pleased to announce new Aramaic resources available for BibleWorks 8.

The first new resource is the Introductory Lessons in Aramaic, by Eric D. Reymond. This introductory Aramaic grammar includes exercises, answers to the exercises, and a glossary.

The second new resource is a set of Aramaic Paradigms for Aramaic verbs, produced by Jan Verbruggen. The paradigms comes with a full set of sound files by Jan Verbruggen for each paradigm.

To obtain this database, open BibleWorks 8 and go to

Once the update is applied, you can select this cross reference database in the X-Refs tab in the main window. The databases are also in the main menu under Resources | Aramaic.

New Consolidated Cross Reference Database

We've posted a new cross-reference database for the X-Refs tab. It was created by consolidating all of the existing cross reference databases and gathering the most-frequently used cross references for each verse. The cross references are sorted by frequency, with minimally shared references placed below a "cut line" for easier viewing. Hope it is a help to your studies!

To obtain this database, open BibleWorks 8 and go to

   Help | BibleWorks on the Internet | Check for updates

and select the update named "Cross Reference Feature". Once the update is applied, you can select this cross reference database in the X-Refs tab in the main window. The database is named "BW Master".

Popup Copy Window and Context Tab tweaks
The Popup Copy Windows now handles a greater variety of reference formats, such as

Joh 3:15-16, 21, 4:2
Heb 1:1,3,5-7,4:1; 6:1; Rev 1:1

psa 1 2-3, 5
Psa 1:3-2:2
Mat 1-5 (copies 5 chapters)
Mat 1:1-8:2

The context tab now has an option to remove morphology codes from the context word lists. This produces sorted lists of lemmas occurring in the specified contexts, rather than inflected forms. This provides more useful information about word usage in the various contexts. This option is on by default. An option on the context tab word list context menus permits you to revert to the previous configuration.

Bibliographical Information
A BibleWorks 8 Help update adds bibliographical information for all the databases and selected program features in BW 8. The information is found in chapter 62 of the BW 8 help file. From there you can copy and paste the information into a word processing document. Also included are Zotero RDF, Refer-BiblX, BibTeX, and RIS files containing all the bibliography information. You can use these files to import the information into your favorite bibliography program. The help file discusses where these files are found in the BibleWorks directory, and provides instructions how to import this data into the free Zotero plugin to the Firefox browser.
