Default Creating link to online audio bibles, issues w/ using <Book><Chapter> variables

I've searched the forums and haven't found anything addressing the issue:

I've created external links so that when I right-click on a passage in the Browse Window [Hebrew/English] I have the option at the bottom to "Narrate [Version] Chapter." So far, I have Hebrew mp3 on my hard drive to point to, and I am using the <Book><Chapter> naming comvention in the file path and mp3 filenames. That works great, no problem there. However, one of the link I created goes out to http://www.biblegateway.com/audio/<version>/<book>.<chapter> and plays the audio chapter for the <book>.<chapter> that I have passed.

This link works fine only when the <book> name for the biblegateway (BG) path matches the Default Abbreviation book name in BW. For instance, take Genesis 10: BW is defaulted to "Gen" and BG has http://www.biblegateway.com/audio/dramatized/kjv/Gen.10. This works fine because the abbreviations match.

But when BW and BG differ, Gen 1 always play in BG (by default). Take Esther 1: BW has the default "Est" but BG has "Esth". No matchy, no worky.

Now, my question is this, in the External Link Manager, is there a way to pass a "Command Line Alias #N" in the place of <book> so that I can create abbreviations to match BG or any other path that differs from the BW default?

    Default BW links

You could use an intervening script like the ones written here several years ago: http://www.bibleworks.com/forums/sho...r-Logos-guides

In essence the script converted the BW abbreviation into a format, a book number, which was used to call the other program. You could simply substitute in different abbreviations or whole names. Then call the appropriate program or websight.

Thanks, Greg. I didn't realize I received a response. I'll try this out when I get a chance.
