Default BW9 and the Literature in ERMIE

I was looking through some of the links that are provided in ERMIE. I ran across a link in the 'Introductions and Gateways'/NT section. It's a book called 'An Introduction to the New Testament' by Zahn. I am wondering if others think it would be worth reading considering it's just over 100 years old. I can understand how it might be useful for historical purposes but do you think it would be a good one for learning today? Thanks.

You're probably right about "historical purposes." Zahn was one of the outstanding scholars of his day, conservative by German critical standards, and of course deeply learned. If one were studying the history of NT scholarship, this would be an important resource. But if one is looking for current knowledge, definitely not. Another example of how 21st-century technology has made 19th-century theology more widely available than ever before!
