Default BW6 Crashes on Windows Starter 7 on HP notebook

I'm expecting backward compatibility by Microsoft and BW to support BW6 without having to upgrade to the latest BW versions 7 or 8.

When I try to enter the serial number to unlock for BDAG or HALOT or QSM or any other module on BW6 I receive the following crash on Windows Starter 7 OS.

If I just run BW6 without unlocking BDAG it does not crash. Is there a solution to this besides the obvious upgrade?

Also, immediately after installing (before running or unlocking modules), you should install all the latest patches.
