Can I subscribe via newsreader?

Some of these types of forums have the ability to subscribe via a newsreader. Is such a thing possible with this particular forum?

As soon as I get this customized the way I like it it'll be just fine.

BTW: how do these forum's setting stick? Cookies or serverside? I flush my cookies frequently and don't want to lose my settings when I do so.
