Default Good Copy of Ginsburg's Hebrew text

There used to be a very good copy of Ginsburg's Hebrew text at this web address:

    www.d.hazaith.com/Scriptures/Bibles.org.uk/tnk.pdf

Does anyone know where it still might be found on the Internet or can provide me a copy?

(This is the OT text itself and not the 4-volume Massorah work.)

    Thank you.

You can find what you are looking for from one of the many links on this page:

    http://www.bibles.org.uk/

Theres a link to the Trinitarian Bible Society version of Ginsburg's Massoretico-critical edition of the Hebrew Bible, another link to the British & Foreign Bible Society version of Ginsburg's Massoretico-critical edition of the Hebrew Bible, and a third link that will get you the version that Tigran at bibles.org.uk has done his own editing on and has typeset in a pretty nice font. Dig in!

Also plenty of other interesting things available from links on this page.

    Question Format of Ginsburg

What's a *.djvu file, and what software opens it? I see that's the format of the Ginsburg file on that site.

Actually, it appears to be a proprietary digital format that you open with FastPictureViewer, which you can find here - http://www.fastpictureviewer.com/ Terrible choice for the format; should be in a widely recognized format like PDF, JPEG, PICT, TIFF, or the like. These all can be opened by lots of different widely used software, including the picture software that comes free with your operating system.

djvu is popular with scanned books (a lot of Google Books are in this format). It has a number of benefits over PDF and images.

What are some of those benefits, Joshua? And is there a robust and FREE reader?

www.djvu.org ? it has a list of place to download there. The main advantages seem to be (1) it's not PDF (i.e. Adobe -- for some Adobe is in the same pile as Microsoft) and (2) it's better at compression than PDF.

Dale, a free viewer is available for my operating system. In fact my whole operating system is free. I suggest you looking into Linux. I prefer Mepis.

    Dale,

You asked about DjVU viewers. If you're a Windows user, I can suggest by experience IrfanView, of the viewers listed here:
    http://www.djvu.org/links/

I use IrfanView for lots of graphic files (cropping, reducing in pixel size, etc.).

IrfanView is easy to use, fast, and free. Note that the it needs a plug-in for viewing DjVU flies.
