    Exclamation Holman CSB Marine's Bible

    Hi,

on the great holman website i saw this strange bible

    http://www.broadmanholman.com/produc...sbn=1586401041

    My opinion,

My recommendation for a marin would be:

Read only one single verses on your bible:

"You shall not murder" Exodus 20, 13

so throw away your guns and ask the lord for "forgiveness" !

    in love

Default perhaps there's more to it than that...

seems to me that the Scriptures differentiate between murder and killing in war.

if not, then God is a wee bit inconsistent, telling his people not to murder, but then telling them to partake in a little bit of ethnic cleansing.

But, what do I know? I also think it's ok to charge people for a Bible.

Here's what I'm thinking: If Jesus is God, and God wrote the Bible, then Jesus says an awful lot about killing, not just the words in red letters.

Yes, Jesus talks about turning the other cheek, but he also talks about counting the cost before going to war (nothing about not going to war). Of course, then there's that whole war-like return that we see in Revelation.
