Word tips

I fear I already know the answer — but let's make sure my research is right.

Is there any way to choose the database for the glosses in the Word Tips (the window that pops up when you mouse-over a word)? I'll mouse-over a word in the LXX, and get that there is no entry — but BAGD (and other lexicons) do have entries.

Is it Strong's or nothing at all, or can I choose?

Hi Dan,

The Word Tips content comes from the Vocabulary Flashcard files. Since these are limited to vocabulary in the OT & NT, this leads to some missed words in the flashcards when viewing text other than the Hebrew Bible or NT.

However users can edit the flashcard files or add to them if they are personally dissatisfied with the glosses. Of course, if you start playing around with this, be sure to back up your vocab files first! I used this method to help hasten my readings in Homer by substituting a Homeric vocab list for the GNT one.
