    Default Popups for non-Bible databases

    Hey all,

I am trying to build a custom module study guide for the ANF. I would like to get the BW pop-ups to work in the module that point to ANF references. I'm not sure if I can get this to work or not. I have the HTML pages tagged correctly (they work for KJV references) but the ANF references don't pop-up. I have tried modifying the bwjs.js script to include ANF, but that doesn't seem to work.

    Any advise?

    Thanks,
    Chris

To my knowledge, it is not yet possible to have popups work for non-Biblical texts. There should theoretically be a way to do this, but I'm not entirely sure how it works. I have not found a good way to make this work anyway.

    Question It must be possible....

    Hi,
Pop-ups work for the Wesminster Standards (WCF, WLC and WSC - they are non-biblical texts!!), so it must be possible to do. Maybe someone at Bibleworks can adivise us?

Question no go as far as i know

As far as I can tell, pop-ups outside of the Bible are not possible in CHM files. Perhaps there is a way to modify the bwjs.js file. I've tried, but I have not figured out how. I looked in the CharlesOTP.chm file, and it looks like they do not use pop-ups for the references to Old Testament Pseudepigrapha passages (only internal links to anchors in the CHM file).

You CAN link to non-canonicals in the note files.

Pop-ups to non-canonical texts would be a helpful feature. Perhaps enough of us can squeak to get the feature enabled.

As far as Mr. Swanepoel's remarks, I am not sure if he understands. I cannot see any way to make references to the confessions appear in a compiled CHM help file. If he knows how to do so, or knows of a specific CHM file that does do this, let me know. I could then reverse-engineer things.

    Unhappy Non-Biblical Pop-ups

    Hi,
My humble apologies. I made a terrible assumption here.

I noticed that the tagging process in BibleWorks will tag references such as "WCS 1:2", but indeed the text for that reference will not show when the mouse is hovered over the reference.

    Cool Not until 8

I just made contact with the folks at BW, and unfortunately CHM files will not be able to link to non-biblical texts until version 8, whenever that may be.

Well we all know there will be a BW8, but now that you have to make notices about features being in version 8, now we're going to all start wondering what will be in it and when it will be released, etc. Jim you just opened the can of worms, so you are now going to have to answer everyone's questions about BW8
