    Default External Hardrive Experiment Question

I recently installed my BW7 on an external hardrive and it works great. But, when I move the hardrive which works off usb to another PC I get a "books.bnb" error. Is this something I can correct with the repair option when I move it to a different pc without messing up my data? Just curious what anyone's thoughts would be. Thanks.

    Hi Kirby,

If BibleWorks writes anything to the Windows Registry then it's not going to run as a portable application. Portable applications don't use the registry to save program data. I doubt that BibleWorks runs this way, although it would be VERY nice if it did. It does have it's own .INI files, but I doubt that the entire package runs without writing to the registry.

    Hope this helps...

    Mike,

Thanks for the info; I was able to do this with a flash drive; another words I installed BW7 (limited database) on a flash drive and could take it to any PC. BW6 was really good about this. Anyway, you have given me food for thought and I'll let you know if I come up with something.

    In Christ,
    Kirby.
