For technical reasons we installed the BW program files on a Novell NetWare server. In this configuration, BW needs about 2 minutes to start which is quite long if you have to wait for it ...
With a network packet sniffer we found that BW reads its configuration (mainly *.DBU, *.DBX and BOOKS.BNA) in one-byte-packets. This is no problem on a local hard drive with its caching mechanisms but on a network this generates a lot of overhead and causes this bad behaviour at startup even with very good network and server components.
Is there any chance for an improvement?

Thanks in advance,
