Thread: Ugaritic Package from that other company

Default Ugaritic Package from that other company

Those other folks have put together a big Ugaritic package, 12+ volumes.

I've budgeted for the JPS Torah commentary because I think I'll use it more. I wish, though, that my... financial oversight committee-of-one could see fit to toss this in. Two student budgets, though, it's not going to happen.

Just thought some people here might find the collection interesting and useful.

I suppose it's like any commentary set, but I find the JPS to be hit and miss. I don't own all of them, only the 5 for the Torah, but still, I'm not sure I've found my money's worth from them yet. I'm sure you've checked out the print versions and found them suitably helpful.

It'll be interesting to see what their Ugaritic set turns into. All I know is I didn't plan on owning any Ugaritic books in my lifetime and I still don't. I'll leave this one for the die-hards.

Just as well, because if I ever decide to get a doctorate, my thesis will probably center on how Ugaritic, Chaldee, Sumerian, Hebrew and Aramaic were all derived from Elizabethan English.
