I personally do not have server space of any real significance anywhere (nothing bigger than 10 MB anyway). I think you might have to find a free server online, but I am not sure if there are any that will host very large files.

http://box.net/ says it allows 1 GB for free or 5 GB for 5$/month
http://www.4shared.com/ seems to offer something similar.

Otherwise I am not sure I have a good answer.

another option for downloading is using bittorrent. If you are familiar with the protocol, bittorrent allows one person to download the same file from multiple people at the same time. Each contributor donates a very small amount of bandwidth, but it adds up to a large download speed for the one retreiving the file. Bittorrent takes care of which pieces of the file are downloaded from which person. The more people who are contributing (="seeding"), the better it is for the download community.

If you've done this before, grab a bittorrent client (I use http://www.utorrent.com), and download the attached file. Currently I'm the only one seeding, so that's no fun. Some of us will need to download pasquale's file directly, then allow bittorrent to upload it. You can do that by downloading the attached .torrent file.

Others who would like to download the file via bittorrent can simply download the .torrent file and open it in a bittorrent client. You will then be downloading from the community's computers.

Ok, sounds complicated, but it's not really.

Pasquale, I do have a suggestion. When you add the Vaticanus and Sinaiticus images, it may be a good idea to put them in separate zipped folders that are linked from the Alexandrinus file. You don't have to make them different modules, but it may be a good idea to have the files split up for the sake of download.

The other alternative is to make separate modules for each text. This would cut down the download time. The user would have three large files to download instead of one GIGANTIC file.

I think it might be best to make separate modules for each text, so Sinaiticus is one module, Vaticanus is one and Alexandrinus is one. It would be better for most users to be able to download 3 80 MB files than one 240 MB file.
