Well, that's the weird thing. I've never had problems with it in the past. Just started within the past 6 months or so.
However, without having read your post, that is the very thing I ended up...
I had to reinstall BW7 a while ago, and ever since I have been unable to update using the updater. Any time I try, when I restart Bibleworks, it crashes and won't open. All I get is the crash...
No problems. Feel free to post or email if you have any hangups or questions along the way.
All bootcamp does is partition your hard drive and create a windows driver disk so, when you install windows, you can then take advantage of the hardware that is a part of your mac. You still need a...
Hey Allen,
Do a search for "Mac" or "parallels" on these forums and you'll see a lengthy list of discussions about running Bibleworks on a Mac.
I myself run it using Parallels on a Macbook Pro,...
Bibleworks will run on an Intel-based Mac that is running Windows through either Bootcamp (which is included with Leopard), Parallels or VMWare Fusion. All three options require a full copy of...
btw, for those interested in running BW on a Mac, do a search for 'mac' and you'll get a ton of threads discussing using BW on a Mac with parallels, bootcamp (both of which work great) and crossover...
On the General Bibleworks Discussion page, the page that lists all of the threads to read, click the "new thread" button at the top left of the board. Voila! New thread.
With virtualization options like VMWare and Parallels (which is what I use), you'll hardly notice the difference between using BW on a mac or on a PC. I haven't noticed any cons to running BW on my...
ha! that was a great reply.
It's a whole different ballgame with the intel macs compared to the powerpc powerbooks. As pointed out, you spend $80 on Parallels, and you don't have to buy any new software. You get the best of...
You can read about different user's experiences here: http://www.bibleworks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2010
There are a couple of other threads about it as well if you do a search.
Let me know...
Read through the other thread, you'll find much better options than VirtualPC, which I understand Microsoft isn't even making for macs anymore.
I'd encourage you to get Parallels, but if you don't...
Actually, I was still having the problem with 1970. Now with 3186, it's gone. Coherence mode is incredible. It's as if Windows isn't even running.
Mike, have you played with the new Beta3 and coherence mode? Has it fixed this issue?
Update: Everything is silky smooth on the C2D. And the MBP isn't running as hot as the previous one was. Interesting.
Regarding cut- or copy-n-pasting, I actually hadn't tried getting any text...
I'm not computer-literate enough to mess with Crossover. And I like to be able to work with Word, Powerpoint and BW all at the same time, so Boot Camp wasn't really an option for me either. i went...
A followup post.. I'm not seeing the speed results that others seem to be experiencing. So, I'm wondering how folks have Parallels set up.
I'm running a Macbook Pro, 2.16ghz Core Duo, 1gig RAM,...
I'm using BW7 with Parallels as well. I made "the switch" last month. Overall, I'm really impressed with the functionality. And, I really like not having to spend hundreds of dollars to rebuilt my...
Parallels has already added Leopard support, so that piece won't be a problem.
Vista, however, I don't know about. I can't imagine that it would be an issue, though...
I've installed BW7 on three seperate Dell laptops (Inspiron 8100, 700m, 9300) and have never had a problem.
Hmm. That's not true, now that I think about it. After wiping the 700m at the...
Not sure if this is it, but... Are you in Browse mode or Multiple Version Mode? The notes will only update in Multiple Version mode.
Are you using 6.0? If the option flags are set right, then it ought to be working. I'd have to say I'm stumped. I don't recall any problems with editor notes when I was using 6.0.
Sorry I'm not...
Just in case I missed it, are you editing in the User Note tab or the Editor tab?
Hi Noel,
I am a pastor in Anchorage, Alaska. I received my M.Div from RTS-Orlando in 2004. I studied under Dr. Futato for Hebrew and Genesis-Joshua. He is a good friend and a trusted scholar,...
