Thanks for the attempt. I had indeed used the already existing icon, but I've deleted it and tried opening from Finder - same behaviour as before I'm afraid. Even after another restart.
Um, that's knocked out my BW installation. Now when I click on the icon, Bibleworks tries to start up and then shuts itself down. I've tried restarting my mac, but get the same behaviour. I can't...
This is really easy, but you need to know that BW uses different vocabulary (which reflects diversity in vocabulary used in teaching Hebrew and writing grammars). If you hover your cursor over the...
True, but you could simply reverse the order of the elements in my search to get the rest. It means searching twice, but it's simple.
My attempt at this is:
set search version to WTM and enter
'*@v?i* *99 *@v?c+S?* ו ב
The "99" is a bit overkill (it represents the number of words allowed between the two elements, and I...
I use Bibleworks on a Mac and I have recently bought Accordance for the greater range of resources it offers. I love both, although I’m more used to Bibleworks, so I’ve struggled a bit to get to know...
This problem has been found and resolved in the latest update. A very speedy, friendly and helpful response from Bibleworks staff.
Thanks. I've just sent such an email to service@bibleworks.com - this was the only address I could find. I hope that's right.
After a few seconds of "mousing over" the text of Deu 11:22 in WTT to check the parsings, my Bibleworks 9 (9.0.009v.1) crashes ("Bibleworks 9.0 has encountered a problem and needs to close..." I'm...
Another "plus one" on this. I've recently bought Accordance which can also do interlinears. I've taken a look, but nothing more. I'm glad Bibleworks has got me used to dealing with the original...
That's not correct - Bibleworks can display more than one version (indeed numerous versions) over as many verses as you require. Whether you'll fit them all on the screen might be an issue - but...
It's difficult to tell from the image, but it looks like your vav is actually a holem vav. This may be ultimately what you're looking for, but doesn't fit with what you set out in your opening post....
Thanks Mike. I've done some fiddling with the updater and had success. I had been lulled into a false sense of security because I've been updating seemingly without problems very regularly, but it...
I'm using BW9 and I've upgraded to the latest version.
Here's a screen dump which, if it's big enough (and if I can upload it correctly), show in the Analysis Window the mixed up Hebrew/Roman...
I thought I'd give this thread a "bump", as it's been a couple of months now. Any news of when this update will be released?
Thanks
Yes, I use BW9 with Fusion and it works a breeze - no problems so far. I understand that under Parallels the Shift key function doesn't work properly, but no such issues with Fusion.
Many thanks everyone for your very considered responses. Lots for me to look into here. I'm clearly in esteemed company!
I've recently upgraded to a Mac (and it certainly does feel like an "upgrade"!) and now my only PC programme is Bibleworks, which I run through Fusion (an emulator). You are told that if you run...
Thanks Mark for your response.
I would have agreed with this up until a few days ago. Then I stumbled across בַּצַּ֥ר in Hosea 5:15 which Bibleworks (and Accordance for that matter) list as...
This may be really simple, but it's eluding me.
I'm trying to search for all non-infinitive-construct verbs that are prefixed with בְּ. Obviously this prefix is common with infinitives, so it is...
A bit of a "me too" post this.
Yes, but I've not done the analysis that you have of when this happens. I agree it is something of an annoyance. If it were simple to fix, I'd welcome it.
I agree with some of the views expressed on that forum that bible software (including Bibleworks) can be detrimental to learning the original languages. But with a bit of discipline, the reverse can...
I agree with Jim that translations should stop mistranslating the tetragrammaton (but it looks like few are going to listen - sigh). In the meantime, you could search using one of the translations...
I clicked on the link and it says "Silver" status. Worse, when you break it down on the site it says this is made up of "Silver" for Linux and only "Bronze" for Mac. I know the BW people are working...
