More or less so. I not anywhere near native but I am probably a nice mid range intermediate level. If I were forced to keep a daily journal in Koine Greek or Japanese I'd pick Japanese.

"Is Japan as crowded as they describe it?"
Tokyo and other big cities are crowded and expensive just like you might imagine. However once, you travel into the prefectures far away from Tokyo and Osaka you will find there is a lot more personal space as well as land and nature. I live in the northern most prefecture (Aomori) of the main island(Honshu). It is fairly rural up here. And, most seafood is really cheap here! Beef and Chicken are more expensive here than in the states.

    "Your story was very interesting."
Anyone's story can appear interesting in a highly abridged form and if only a few milestones are mentioned.

I'd be curious to know where you developed your proficiency with the Hebrew Bible though.

Proficient? The more I learn, the more I know I need to learn.

"How do you like living in Japan and how long have you been there? Do you ever miss home (wherever home was for you)?"
I have been here for about eight years, I enjoy life here, and I do miss my family and friends back home. I plan on returning (or at least I hope to) for graduate school some day.

Sure, I'd be happy to answer your question Irving. Well, I in University(undergraduate) I took 5 semesters of attic/koine Greek (the first semester was by accident). It was then that I was actually forced to read the NT and study it seriously for the first time. But, I really did not have the right heart or mindset then to really understand what I was reading and I tried to find contradictions in it and Hebrew Bible/Tanakh. It was only after university that the the LORD opened my eyes and I was ready for true conversion. During, my university days I met my wife to be who happens to be Japanese. After, graduation I decided that I needed to understand her culture, language, and mindset more before we got married so I came to Japan to do that. After, my first two years in Japan we were married and I have been here ever since.
