I note that the new Targum update (great, btw) changes the qere/kethib marking. We now have some text marked in grey (Gen. 1:2), some blue (Gen 1:7), and some red (Gen. 1:2).

Is there an explanation somewhere that I missed?

Maybe the "Jesus Seminar" folks have been editing it ;o)
