Notes Files / Hyperlinks

Is there a way to set up hyperlinks between note files and MS Word documents, or even link together individual verse note files for cross-referencing purposes?

Hyperlinking has been requested several times, and I believe somewhere on this board, Mike Bushell said it would be included in the next major revision.
