I have been using Citation9 for years and have almost 2k items in my data file; however, the program does not allow me to enter UNICODE text say for a Czech author. Does anybody know of software that would allow that? Endnote is the curse of everybody who uses it, so forget that. I have spoken with Steve at Nota Bene and this is something they might do, but what is there now?

Have you tried Zotero? I use it and it supports Greek Unicode, so I assume it supports all forms of Unicode.

I used Endnote 9 all through my PhD studies and found it to be very good.

Maybe I just had the "good version" and everything before and after was poor.
