How to enter morphologically tagged searches in hebrew?

This should be obvious but I can't figure it out. In a morphologically tagged version like WTM, how do I enter a search pattern like, .כפר@v?p*
I can't find any way to enter the @ symbol.
I tried hitting 'insert' to enter the special input mode but I still can't type @ successfully

Is there some trick to this?

You have to place the cursor at the right of the root/lemma. After typing the root, either hit the "end" key or click with the mouse to the right of the root. You should then be able to type the "@", and typing switches back to left-to-right.
