View Full Version : YLT - J.N. Young or Robert Young?
10-11-2009, 10:46 PM
BibleWorks attributes the Young's Literal Translation to J. N. Young, but I'm seeing a lot of places on the web that attribute it to Robert Young.
Anyone have some insight on this?

Yes, I, too, wonder why.
Wikipedia articles under the headings of “Robert Young (Biblical scholar) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Young_(Biblical_scholar))” and “Young’s Literal Translation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Young%27s_Literal_Translation),” and “Young, Robert” in Webster’s Biographical Dictionary, A Merriam-Webster (Springfield, Mass.: G. & C. Merriam Co., 1980) all seem to confirm that Young’s Literal Translation is the work of Robert Young (1822-1888).
Could it be that BW simply made an error here?
