I watched the following movie the other day on the "Sundance Channel." I was encouraged because it turned into a wonderful testimony about the power of God.

I grew up in California. I surfed more than I skated-boarded (or went to school - five days a week?! R U Kidding Me!); so this may be part of the reason I enjoyed it, if it turns out you don't.

I checked, you can rent this on Netflix and Blockbuster online.

Here's the church (http://www.sanctuaryhb.com/) Christian Hosoi currently attends.

Here's an outreach (http://www.theuprisingishere.com/speakers.php) they are currently promoting.

Summer's coming and you may be looking for some variety to share with the folks at your churches or whatever.

Another strong testimony is that of Bethany Hamilton.

“This faith-based documentary conveys Bethany's heart and tackles the difficult question: Why does God allow bad things to happen in our lives? Dealing with topics from self-consciousness and courage to faith in God, Heart of a Soul Surfer presents a good message in a fun, exciting way; told from the heart of a young woman with great passion and dedication to God.”

Bethany's can be rented on Netflix, but not Blockbuster Online.

I found the segment from the above video/DVD that has Christian's actual testimony.

As I listen to his words, several verses come to mind ....

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Galatians 5:1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Genesis 29:20 So Jacob served seven years to get Rachel, but they seemed like only a few days to him because of his love for her.

*FYI - A couple F Bombs get dropped by various people getting interviewed.
