Maybe it's under my nose or under a different name but I'm unable to find 3 Kingdoms and 4 Kingdoms in the two English LXX translations in BibleWorks 8. Could anyone help me out? Thanks.

In both LXE and LXT (english and greek versions of LXX) BibleWorks uses the traditional English names.
1 Kingdoms = 1 Samuel
3 Kingdoms = 1 Kings

See the books_sbl.bna file in your BibleWorks init folder.

Thank you. Obviously I'm inexperienced regarding the Septuagint. The books_sbl is helpful.

You might be interested in looking at the New English Translation of the Septuagint here: http://ccat.sas.upenn.edu/nets/edition/

It has very extensive introductions and notes.
The format is pdf, a separate file for each book, plus an introductory volume.
Unfortunately, it is protected so that copy and paste doesn't work.
But it is certainly a good free course in the LXX.

Shalom,
