In reading the NIrV, I've noticed extraneous coding such as at John 8:12:

N1Jesus spoke to the people again. He said, "I am the light of the world. Those who follow me will never walk in darkness. They will have the light that leads to life." { pnsup1/nsup +z }

Are the N1 and { pnsup1/nsup +z } supposed to be there and what do they represent?

No, "N1" and "{ pnsup1/nsup +z }" are not supposed to display. They are formatting codes which were not done correctly. One key stroke different from the format BW reads can make formatting information such as this undetected by BW, so it simply displays as part of the text. I'll report this to the gentleman who prepares databases. He may be able to find more of these and correct them all together.
