If you have ever been a bit confused by the variety of Greek NT texts available in BW7, I just posted an article on my blog (http://bibleandtech.blogspot.com/2008/07/accordance-bibleworks-logos-greek-new.html) that may clear things up a bit. In particular, I think I have provided a helpful way to get at all those abbreviations that can be used in the command line to quickly call up a text.

For some reason there also is a BGT text which is the BNT combined with the LXX text.
Probably the BNT is a left over and is kept for historical/practical reasons.

Hi, Wieland,
Actually, BW7 has two 'paired pairs.'
The BGM is a morph tagged version matched with the BGT.
The BGM is a combination of BLM (LXX tagged) and BNM (NT tagged)
The BGT is a combination of LXT (for the LXX; if naming were entirely consistent, it should be the BLT) and BNT (the text you note for the NT).

I think these are intended and not just leftovers. I often want to search across the whole Greek Bible, and then I use BGM/T. If I just want the NT, I could limit my search to the NT, but it is easier to switch to BNM/T.

Also note - AND THIS IS IMPORTANT - that if you search the BGM/T and just limit yourself to the OT (ie, use "l ot" in the command line), you will NOT get all the hits in the LXX. You need to use the BLM/LXT versions to do so.

This is because the "OT" limit is coded to the Hebrew Bible, and since the LXX uses a different order, they do not match. What I have done--because I usually do like to keep the BGM/T my main version--is defined my own custom limit. I use "OTLXX" and you should set it to "Gen-Bet." (Not the Gen-Mal of the Hebrew Bible.) Note that "Bet" is Bel and the Dragon in the Theodotian version, the last book in the LXX.

I've been updating my post in light of comments provided by others. I was going to indicate that BW has the CNTTS Critical Apparatus module available (soon?). It's listed on the full contents page (http://www.bibleworks.com/content/full.html) as a module for extra fee, but it is no longer listed on the modules page (http://store.bibleworks.com/modules.html). What happened?

Mark,

According to one member of the the BibleWorks' staff this is the status of the module at Christmas. "The New Orleans module is (sadly) :(still not available--they've had a couple of serious setbacks, one of which was Hurricane Katrina. "
I guess you could contact Bill Warren and he could give you an update on their progress.

Thanks, that's interesting!
I think this should be changed, if possible.
