BibleWorks does not run natively on an Apple/Macintosh computer. The program is written for the Windows environment. For one to run BibleWorks on a Macintosh computer, therefore, it is necessary to have Windows running in one form or another. On some Macs it is now possible to boot directly into Windows. Another way to run Windows is to have an emulator environment. Programs such as Virtual PC, Parallels or Bootcamp provide this functionality.
When running an emulator, computer resources are shared between the host computer and the emulator session, referred to as the guest computer. Due to this relationship, one occasionally finds that keystrokes that normally perform functions in the application do not work as expected. An example of this is the use of the F1 function key. When BibleWorks is running on a computer that runs Windows, the F1 key can be used to open Online Help. Under an emulator session, however, that F1 keystroke may not produce the same result.
Therefore, when keystrokes do not produce the expected result, consult the documentation for the emulator software to determine whether the given keystroke is available, and if so, how it will be executed in the virtual session.
