If the Greek or Hebrew text in BibleWorks does not appear in the corresponding characters, they cannot serve for their intended use. This condition is often the result of the Greek and Hebrew fonts not being installed, or by the font files becoming corrupt. In either case, the solution will be basically the same.

Reinstall the BibleWorks fonts from the files in the BibleWorks folder. 1. Shut down BibleWorks if it is running.
2. Restart BibleWorks while holding the Shift key down on your keyboard.
3. In the "BibleWorks Trouble-Shooting Options" window that opens, check the box under "Option 1" labeled "Reinstall BibleWorks fonts."
4. Then click "Perform the selected options and run BibleWorks." The problem should be solved at this point.
Reinstall the fonts from files downloaded from the BibleWorks site. 1. Shut down BibleWorks if it is running.
2. Open an internet browser window to www.bibleworks.com (http://www.bibleworks.com).
3. Find the menu in the upper, left-hand corner of the page, move the mouse over SUPPORT then move the mouse to the sub-menu that displays and click on DOWNLOADS.
4. Find and click the link for FREE GREEK AND HEBREW FONTS.
5. Choose the desired ZIP file format. (ZIP file extraction functionality is built into Windows XP and Windows Vista. For earlier versions of Windows, choose the self-extracting ZIP file.) Save the file to an easy-to-find location.
6. Close the internet browser and go to the folder where the ZIP file was just stored. a. Either double-click the file (if it was the self-extractor) or use the built-in file extractor in Win XP or Vista to unpack the font files.
b. Store in an easy-to-find location, but NOT on the Windows Desktop.
7. Access the Windows Fonts folder. To do so, open the Windows Control Panel, switch to Classic View (if necessary,) and double-click on the icon labeled FONTS.
8. When the folder opens, find and delete files with the names BWGRK? or BWHEB?. (There are more than one of each of these font types, distinguished only by the character represented by the question mark.)
9. Do not delete other BW... fonts.
10. When the Greek and Hebrew fonts have been deleted, click FILE > INSTALL NEW FONT to open the dialog box by the same name.
11. In this box, separate listboxes are shown for the drives, folders, and files. a. Use the Drives listbox, if necessary, to designate the drive on which the font files were stored.
b. Use the Folders listbox to find the folder where the font files were stored. The first view is of the Windows folder. It may be necessary to double-click the C drive icon at the box, then find the folder where the font files have been stored.
c. Once the folder has been selected where the font files are stored, the Files listbox will populate with font names.
12. Select and install each and all of the Greek and Hebrew font files.
If neither of the two processes above serves to fix the problem, something in the computer's operating system may be preventing the installation or loading of the fonts. Here are two things to check.
i. In some earlier versions of Windows there is a limitation of the number of fonts that can be present. Since it is possible that limit may have been exceeded, check out the following articles on the Microsoft site for information.http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;131943 (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;131943)http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=254766&product=w98 (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=254766&product=w98)For those earlier versions of Windows, the limit is between 600 and 1000 depending on the variables listed in the article above. If the number of fonts present is nearing those numbers, select and remove some of the other fonts that have been installed. (Be cautious not to remove system fonts. The icon for such fonts usually differs, but it will often appear as a small computer. Font files of the TTF variety can usually be deleted without disrupting programs. Consult the software documentation for the other programs if there is any doubt.)
ii. There may be system-monitoring software running that is preventing the installation of new fonts. Make sure the permission settings for the ID signed on allows modification of the contents of the system\fonts folder.
