View Full Version : WTT Copying

When I copy a WTT verse into a table in Word using Shift-Ctrl-B, the verse appears first, then the reference.

For example, Gen 1:1, the WTT hebrew characters appear first, then the "WTT Genesis 1:1" tag.

I don't know how to paste screen shots into this post or I would, but in any case, the order should be reversed, shouldn't it?

That's the way it appears on the screen in BibleWorks, so why shouldn't it display that way in Word? Hebrew is right to left, so the beginning of the verse is at the right. But I may misunderstand you.
There is a problem with line wrapping when you copy bwhebb font into Word. Other threads discuss making the export font something like SIL Hebrew and checking the "Unicode" box. That may make a difference for you. But I have found that copying individual Hebrew words into a basically English text does not work well using a Unicode Hebrew font. For that I'd stick with the bwhebb font.

Perhaps. Here's how it is if you just copy and paste --

#r<a'h' taew> ~yIm;V'h; tae ~yhil{a/ ar"B' tyviarEB. WTT Genesis 1:1

However, using Shift-Ctrl-B to fill a cell in a table in Word, the hebrew characters come first, then the "WTT Genesis 1:1" comes after.

In other words, it's the exact opposite of the above. I don't think it's supposed to be that way.

In fact, the WTT verse copies backwards when using Shift-Ctrl-B.

What is also strange is that I get two different popups when using Shift-Ctrl-B depending upon which application I import from.

For example, in Davka, Notepro, and other apps, when using Shift-Ctrl-B, I get a popup with a single field for entering the verse range.

On the other hand, when using Word and IE, I get a popup with two fields, one for entering the verse range, the second for choosing which versions to copy.

If someone will tell me how to post screen shots into these messages, I will show you.

Has anyone else experienced this?

To post screen shots: 1) Upload you image somewhere, eg http://www.imageshack.us/; 2) copy the link to the hosted file; and 3) click the "Insert Image" icon on the message toolbar and insert the copied link.

Hope this is clear enough.

Thanks, David. Here is a screen shot of the two different types of dialog box I get when pressing Shift-Ctrl-B, depending upon which application I am in --

When in Davka, Notepro, and other apps, I get the dialog on the left. When in Word, IE, and other apps, I get the dialog on the right.

And as I said, when using either of these WTT copies backwards.

Actually, I figured out that it does not copy backwards, per se, but does not actually format properly when inserted into a table that is not wide enough. The following are three examples when copying into Word using Shift-Ctrl-B, the first being a straightforward copy with no table, the second with a small table cell, and the last with an expanded table cell --

As you can see, the formatting is not proper in the second example.

I think your problem may be solved by looking at the following thread:

Yes, that thread was helpful with the line wrapping, but I'm still curious as to why I get two different dialog boxes when using Shift-Ctrl-B.
